So,
you like to read, but what you really want to do is write?
Come join us every first and third Wednesday
of the month, from 4:00-5:00, in room 204 on the second floor. Be
sure to bring paper, pen, and your imagination, and we provide the
refreshments! (Next meetings: May 3rd, May 17th, June 7th, June
21st.)
We'll go over things that help make up the
guts of good stories--- do you have flat characters? Difficulty
with dialogue? Does your story have a saggy middle? Or have you
just written yourself into a corner? With discussion and
exercises, you'll be able to get past whatever's got you blocked
on your story.
We'll also have a chance to share our
writing with each other and give feedback. If you're not sure
you're conveying ideas clearly; if you know your story can be
better, but you're not quite sure where it needs fixing; or if you
just want constructive critiques from someone who's not your mom
or your best friend, this will be a great group to share with!
If you want your work critiqued, be sure to
bring copies of it to the meeting on the first Wednesday. That
way, everyone will have time to read it and comment on it at the
third Wednesday meeting.

more details, or join our mailing list if you have difficulty
making the meetings!
